How was the word Bread used in the Bible?

Baking bread can be a great opportunity to pass down the Word of God. The word Bread or Manna was used over 200 times in the Bible.  I have included a few verses that talk about Bread.  The next time you bake some bread have a discussion about how the word BREAD is used in the Bible.   Sometimes the word meant food for our bodies.

As in Exodus 16:4 Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you.  The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day.

Sometimes the word Bread was referring to Jesus.  Jesus is the Bread of Life.  The Bible says the bread that we should hunger for is the Word of God.
Deuteronomy 8:3  He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
John 6:32  Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.  33 For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
John 6:51  “I am  the living bread that came down from heaven.  If a man eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”  In this verse Jesus is saying that the bread represents his body.  His body is the way to salvation.
